So far I have only performed my poetry at a few readings at pubs and at a couple of performance fesitvals. I enjoy performing my poetry but seek new and innovative ways of improving both my poetry and my performance of it. The spoken word can completely change how a poem can be percieved and is a really interesting form of performance. As a current english literature student I have found that although my course helps with my poetry it does not increase or enhance my performative qaulities. I enjoy acting a lot but I think poetry should not be acted so much as performed and that is where I think I could use some help - in learning the difference between the two.
